Neighborhood Holiday Happenings

Your calendar is probably already teeming with family gatherings, charity dinners and company holiday parties, but just in case you’ve got a moment to spare, here are a handful of fun holiday options in the greater Madison area.

If theater sounds like fun, check the Overture Center website for your favorite classic performances including A Christmas Carol, The Nutcracker and Guys on Ice. In addition, A Fireside Christmas is back, bringing with it beautiful singing, breath-taking dancing and gorgeous costumes in nearby Fort Atkinson.

Looking to fill a dull evening any day of the week? Take the family for a glimmering drive through the annual Holiday Fantasty in Lights at Olin-Turville Park in downtown Madison. (It’s FREE, although donations are accepted.)

Prefer to get out of your car? Head over to Olbrich Botanical Gardens for their Holiday Express. For a minimal admission fee (it’s free for members), stroll through their holiday-inspired display of large-scale model trains and colorful poinsettias.

But these are just the highlights. For a complete listing of on-going Madison events, visit the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Calendar of Events. And if you’re looking for fun things to do with your kids, visit the Madison with Kids website.

Our neighborhood is filled with fun things to do! Happy Holidays!
